For Parents/Guardians

Things You Need to Know

Who do you want the girl in your life to become? You want her to be self-confident, strong, and compassionate. You want her to respect herself and others, make good decisions, be open to new challenges and use her skills and talents to take action to make her world a better place. You want her to build strong friendships, be a leader and put her values into practice in her everyday life.

As a Girl Scout, your daughter will grow into her best self. She'll become more focused, a better time manager, and a more effective team player. She'll grow in confidence. Inspire others. And set the stage for a lifetime of achievement.

How do you get started? What are the first steps to becoming a Girl Scout? What do Girl Scouts do? What can you expect your daughter to learn? What does Girl Scouts expect of you? And what is the scoop on those Girl Scout Cookies?

For answers to these and other questions about Girl Scouting and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, start with our Parent/Guardian Guide.

If you have additional questions you may find answers in our FAQs; feel free to reach out to your daughter’s troop leader (if she is part of a troop); or please send us an email and someone on our staff will contact you.

We look forward to having you and your daughter join us for this amazing Girl Scout Leadership Experience! We hope that it will be rewarding for each of you.
