Go-Getter Goal Setting Girl Scouts

It’s the day that many of us have been waiting for ALL YEAR. It’s the first day of the Girl Scout Cookie Program!!  WooWhoo!  It’s Cookie Time in NEBRASKA and on top of THAT, we are all celebrating National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend. What a great way to get the word out to everyone who loves and is looking for Girl Scout Cookies. Go after it girls!

We are proud of our girls and proud of this program that teaches girls so many important skills. These are the skills that they will develop (probably without even knowing it) and that they will use their entire lives.

I am going to feature each of the FIVE KEY SKILLS in my blog during cookie time, so that we can all learn something about the importance of the Girl Scout Cookie Program to our girls.

Skill of the Day – GOAL SETTING: Girls set Girl Scout Cookie sales goals and create a plan to reach them. This matters because girls need to know how to set and reach goals to succeed in school, on the job and in life.

Last year, we have many girls in Nebraska set their sights on selling 1,000 or more boxes and 44 of them achieved this amazing goal.

For those out there interested in helping girls reach their goals:

  • Help us celebrate by finding Girl Scouts who are selling in your community! You can locate a booth near you by clicking here.
  • Supporting the Girl Scout Cookie Program is as delicious as it is important. With every box purchased you help girls build essential life skills and make a positive impact on their communities – communities right here in Nebraska! It’s where ALL the money stays.
  • And while you’re at it – you may want to check these helpful hints for buying cookies from a Girl Scout. Our girls are learning valuable lessons about the world – helping that experience to be a positive one creates a safe place for the best experience J

For our girls and volunteers out there in the chilly trenches –you’re the best!

Please share videos or pictures from your own Girl Scout Cookie Program adventures on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #gssn and #cookieboss :)

Yours in Girl Scouting and Goal Setting,

Erin
