Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska is delighted to announce a special event at the Cornhusker State Games featuring the popular and inspiring American Ninja Warrior competitor Maggi Thorne. Girl Scouts and their friends will be able to test their strength, grit, and determination on a Ninja Challenge Course at the Games.
Maggi will join girls as they climb, jump, and scramble their way through the course during a special Girl Scouts Night from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18.
The event will give girls the opportunity to challenge themselves and overcome obstacles, said Maggi, a former Girl Scout who lives in Lincoln. Admission is free for Girl Scouts, who show their vest or sash, and up to two friends.
The event is part of an ongoing partnership with Maggi, who is standing with Girl Scouts to “Unleash Strong!” and empower girls to discover their courage and interests.
“In Girl Scouts, girls take the lead in discovering their own power, and testing themselves on a ninja course is an incredible way to find confidence while empowering their sister Girl Scouts,” Maggi said. “My hope is to help girls know their true selves and to never stop dreaming as they discover their purpose.”
Soon, Girl Scouts will be able to earn an official “BOW patch” that celebrates one’s inner and outer strength, overcoming obstacles, and honoring one’s true self. The patch will feature Maggi’s trademark pink bow.
The Ninja Challenge Course will be at Lincoln East High School. Girl Scout members, their families and friends, and girls interested in learning more about Girl Scouts are invited to flex their muscles on the course.
