Media is the most persuasive and pervasive force of communication in our culture. Girls between 8-18 years old spend more than 10 hours a day in media-related activities. Images they see of girls and women affect their confidence, body image, relationships, and leadership aspirations. During this program, you will examine your beliefs and gain clarity on what’s truly important to you. Explore media’s influence in your life and develop strategies for becoming more media-literate. You will identify key messaging, decide if those messages support your values and beliefs, and use the power of the media to find your own voice. This will be one empowering program!
