Soaring Hawk Zip Line Tour Takes Flight at Camp Crossed Arrows

Nebraska’s first multi-station zip line tour is now open for the 2018 season, giving all G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders)™ with spring fever a chance to experience a bird’s-eye view of gorgeous Camp Crossed Arrows.

Soaring Hawk Zip Line Tour is open to Girl Scouts and the public, and will give thrill-seekers an unforgettable experience.

“The name is an homage to the native bird that flies high over the timber, canyons and prairie grasses of Camp Crossed Arrows,” said Michael Davis, Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska Council Properties Director. “This is what we hope to provide to our riders – breathtaking views of natural scenery at speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.”

With five runs, or individual zip lines, Soaring Hawk sends riders careening across prairies and through the woods. Runs vary in height and length. Together, all the zip lines span about 1,950 feet. With walks in between zip line stations, total tour distance is about 3,590 feet.

Last fall, members of Girl Scout Troop 45325 of Omaha won a Facebook contest and became the first troop to ride the zip line tour. Troop member Alexis Smith had been ziplining before but said this was one of her favorite courses.

“Once we arrived at the first zip line, the trained professionals took it from there,” Smith said. “They hooked us up, and we zipped down the lines. It was a blast!”

Riders should plan for 2-3 hours to complete the tour, depending on group size. Book your tour today!
