Ways to Give

Your donation provides necessary resources, materials and support, so that we can continue to deliver this exceptional leadership experience to every Girl Scout in Nebraska.

Here are ways you can make a difference by giving to Girl Scouts!

Family Partnership Campaign

Created with our Girl Scouts and families in mind, this is an opportunity for you to partner with the organization. With a gift of $25 or more, the Girl Scout in your family receives a participation patch!

Honorarium and Memoriam

Honorarium and memoriam gifts are reverential ways for you to honor loved ones. An honorarium acknowledges someone still living, while a memoriam is in memory of a person who is deceased.

Birthdays, anniversaries, recognition of an award, graduations or the passing of a loved one are all appropriate times to honor or remember those close to you, especially if they have a connection to Girl Scouts.

The council will send an acknowledgement to the person or family specified by the benefactor, and the benefactor will receive an acknowledgement of their donation for tax purposes.

Juliette Low Society

The purpose of Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska’s Juliette Low Society is to encourage major and planned gifts to support Girl Scouting well into the future.

Benefits of Joining the Juliette Low Society are:

  • Individuals who give at the $1,000 or greater level will be invited to a donor recognition event.
  • Members who make a major gift or planned gift at the $10,000 or greater level will receive a Juliette Low Society pin.
  • The recognition for the circle of pearls is a pearl necklace.

Pearl Club
Those individuals who contribute or designate through planned giving will join the Pearl Club at the following levels. Gifts are cumulative.

  • Circle of Pearls - $100,000 and above
  • Pearl III - $75,000 to $99,999
  • Pearl II - $50,000 to $74,999
  • Pearl I - $25,000 to $49,999
  • Daisy Donors - $10,000 to $24,999
  • Petals Club - Sustaining annual donors of $1,000 to $9,999

Planned and Legacy Gifts

Leaving a planned gift isn’t just for the elderly or extremely wealthy – anyone can leave a legacy. Through a planned gift, you can support girls today with cash or stock, or design a plan as part of your estate that benefits our girl and adult members after your lifetime.

Here are a few Planned Giving options for your consideration:

Bequest by Will
You can make a bequest at any age by adding a codicil to an existing will or drafting a new one. This allows you to leave a legacy while maintaining the assets you need for your current lifestyle. In addition, you may generate a tax savings.

Retirement Plan Assets
Name Spirit of Nebraska as the full or partial beneficiary of your retirement plan. The benefit amount you specify will be distributed to Spirit of Nebraska, tax free.

Life Insurance
Life insurance provides a simple way to give a significant gift to Spirit of Nebraska with possible income tax benefits that you may enjoy during your lifetime. Name Spirit of Nebraska as a full or partial beneficiary when you create this plan.

By definition, an endowment is a gift deposited into a fund where the original amount – called the principal – remains forever. Income earned from the fund’s investments provides the means to support Spirit of Nebraska in perpetuity.

For specific questions regarding your gift and tax advantages, please contact your financial and/or tax advisor.
