Butterflies, Bees, and Blooms Camp Catron - 4-22-23

Did you know that bees are responsible for one out of three bites of food you enjoy? Or that butterflies are an important part of the food chain? Join us to learn all about the beautiful and the buzzy. You'll discover plant and bee-based products that benefit us, see how bees and butterflies help agriculture, and hear how flowers can increase creativity. Round out the day by creating a real flower and butterfly themed nature craft while you hear how you can aid in pollinator conservation.

Road Trip - Girl Scout Camp Style! 2023

Join us for an adventure-packed tour of the eastern Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska camps!

We will begin our road trip from the Omaha Service Center and from there we’ll experience the best that Camp Crossed Arrows, Camp Maha, and Camp Catron have to offer during a whirlwind weekend campout. Reach new heights with the Eugene's Adventure Course at Camp Catron, take a thrilling ride on the Soaring Hawk Zipline Tour at Camp Crossed Arrows, and explore the high challenge course at Camp Maha. Stay overnight at two different camp properties and enjoy archery, swimming, hiking, cooking outdoors, and making SWAPS, too. You’ll even earn a special patch and bandana to represent each camp location!

Camp Out (Basic) 6-4-23 - Nebraska City

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Location - Camp Catron, Nebraska City, NE

Prepare to safely take girls to a camp setting during this 6-hour session, $15/person session.

Topics include "leave no trace" principles, girl-led experiences, fire building, and outdoor cooking. It is required before taking girls on a camp outing that includes fire building and/or outdoor cooking.

This session must be renewed every five years

Developed in partnership with UNL, Kimmel Orchard and the NDA, this program explores the amazing world of insects. Examine how these critters impact our lives through fun and engaging activities. Tour Kimmel Orchard, go for a hayrack ride, and enjoy orchard delicacies and honey tasting. Catch and examine bugs and try your hand at beekeeping – who knew insects could be so fascinating?

Journey into the upside down for a totally tubular week of camp! Play Stranger Things trivia, sharpen your Morse code skills to communicate with friends inside the upside down, and make a themed-SWAPS and a demogorgon craft. Navigate Eugene's Adventure Course, swim, hike, and hit the mark at the archery range - and we'll be sure to have waffles for breakfast!

Video Games in Real Life Resident Camp 7-23-23

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

What would happen if your favorite video games came to life? Learn what Minecraft items look like in the real world, show your moves with Fortnite dances, and make your own Among Us character. Play water level games in the pool, help make a Fruit Ninja-style salad snack, and create a potion right out of Terraria. After you finish your Legend of Zelda treasure hunt, take the warp pipe to Eugene's Adventure Course and channel your inner Mario to conquer the rope bridges and swinging logs.
