Camp Out (Basic) 4-16-23 - North Platte

Location - Lakeview Cabin - North Platte, NE

Prepare to safely take girls to a camp setting during this 6-hour session, $15/person session.

Topics include "leave no trace" principles, girl-led experiences, fire building, and outdoor cooking. It is required before taking girls on a camp outing that includes fire building and/or outdoor cooking. This session must be renewed every five years.

Ghost Hunt at the Buffalo Bill Ranch 5-5-23

Something strange is happening at the Buffalo Bill Ranch! Join us for a spooky investigation into the ghostly happenings of the Cody Mansion and its famous barn. Learn how the experts track signs of the paranormal and even see if a ghost will talk to you! After all the excitement, we'll head back to Lakeview Cabin for some camp activities!

Roast a hot dog over a campfire and make s’mores, too. This is a great way to introduce yourself and your family to Lakeview Cabin, learn about summer camp programs, and meet camp staff.

Archery League - Lakeview Cabin 2023

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Join the Archery League, created by Gold Award Girl Scout Hailey. Learn about the amazing sport of archery or improve your current skills, including how to handle compound and recurve bows, using safety equipment, and best practices.

At the end of summer, we will have a friendly competition, with family and friends in attendance, so you can show off your skills! You will be grouped with others close to your experience level when competing.

Harry's World Resident Camp 6-22-23

Join us for a magical weekend as you leave the muggle world and journey to the wizarding world. After you are sorted into houses, you can make your own wand, join potions class, and learn how to care for magical creatures! Play a game of Quidditch followed by Harry Potter Trivia and a feast in the Great Hall! Enjoy swimming, games, crafts and more all with a Harry Potter twist. Mischief managed!

Intermediate Horsemanship Resident Camp 6-25-23

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Immerse yourself in the Wild West at this unique horse camp. Ride twice a day with an overnight camping experience in Halsey National Forest setting up camp, cooking your own meals, and caring for the horses. There's nothing like sleeping outside with the sound of neighing horses nearby. Camping readiness is a must for this amazing horseback riding adventure.

*Girls must be entering 5th grade or above.

Only four adult volunteers are needed. Adult camp volunteers are required to be registered Girl Scout members and successfully complete a background check. All camp volunteers are expected to support camp staff as needed.

JULY 2023

Beginner Horsemanship Resident Camp 7-5-23

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Date: Wed Jul 05, 7:00 PM - Fri Jul 07, 5:00 PM CDT

Ride once each day and learn the basic skills of horsemanship at this relaxed horse camp. Become comfortable around horses and feel confident controlling your horse at a walk and short trot. Learn about tack, horse breeds, horse colors, and horse terminology. When not riding, swim at our private beach, kayak on Lake Maloney, and make horsey crafts. Visit the Buffalo Bill Ranch to tour the famous barn and visit the old west town at the Lincoln County Museum to conquer the scavenger hunt!

*Girls must be entering 3rd grade or above.

Only four adult volunteers are needed. Adult camp volunteers are required to be registered Girl Scout members and successfully complete a background check. All camp volunteers are expected to support camp staff as needed.

Advanced Horsemanship Camp 7-16-23

Experience the beauty of Fort Robinson State Park during this amazing horse camp. Arrive at Dusty Trails to begin your journey. We will ride three times before we head to Fort Robinson where we will spend three nights in the beautiful bluffs. We will ride during the day, visit local sites, and experience the weekly rodeo events. Swimming, tent camping, and campfire cooking are all part of this fun, horse-filled adventure.

*Girls must be entering 7th grade or above.
