Training and Planning Tools

Thank you for helping us bring Girl Scouting to more girls. Our mission truly would not be possible without the volunteers who are providing girls stability in uncertain times and the encouragement and safe space they need to continue dreaming big, taking on the tough challenges, and growing into strong, confident leaders.

We know this year is going to look different, in Girl Scouts and in general. We’re here to help you! Below are resources to support your delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience while at home.

Local Support and Training

Many of our volunteer trainings are now available online! Explore our webinars – from Essentials and Outdoors to Travel and Highest Awards – to continue your Girl Scout volunteer development at home.

For Zoom training, see the section below.

Starting in October, tune into live chats with our Troop Support staff every other Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. CT. Check our Facebook page and program calendar for details and more volunteer opportunities.

Virtual Troop Meetings For All Girls!

Online troops for girls in all grade levels are now meeting! Current Girl Scout members and families and girls who want to learn more about Girl Scouts are invited to attend. Parents and caregivers of girls in kindergarten through fifth grade should attend the 45-minute meetings with their girls. Learn more in our blog.

Request That a Program Aide Attend Your Virtual Meeting

Program Aides, or PAs, can help you lead Girl Scout songs and games and bring excitement to your virtual meetings. PAs should never be on a virtual call or in a breakout room without a Girl Scout volunteer present. Please submit a PA and CIT Request Form to request a PA for a virtual troop meeting. All virtual safety activity checkpoints and Spirit of Nebraska online safety best practices must also be followed.

COVID Guidelines

Beginning in July 2020, some in-person Girl Scout activities, service unit activities, and troop meetings are permitted to resume, providing Spirit of Nebraska guidelines are followed. Volunteers must review the guidelines that acknowledge the need to take all reasonable precautions to limit potential exposure of the COVID-19 virus to girls, volunteers, and families.
