Seasonal Camp and Challenge Course Employment

Join us for the most MEMORABLE summer EVER! Girl Scouts is the premier leadership organization for girls. We strive daily to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, and our girls need YOU to make it possible! Summer camp is a place for making new friends, discovering adventures, and having fun!

Join us this summer and become the role model she’ll always remember. Seasonal staff positions are posted on the Spirit of Nebraska Job Board.

Benefits

Bi-weekly paychecks
Free room and board for resident camp staff
Daily meals and snacks—and the occasional Girl Scout Cookie, too (overnight camp only)
Two hours off each day for resident camp staff and 60 minutes each day for day camp staff
Training provided at no cost, including certification in CPR/First Aid, an overview of Girl Scout programming, challenge course and archery training, and preparation to work with groups of campers

Most importantly, working as a youth development specialist (Camp Counselor or Challenge Course Facilitator) provides you the arena to practice responsibility, thinking on your feet, communication, collaboration, creativity, problem solving, management skills, and so much more in a real-world context. Every role has the option be on the front lines. Employees are encouraged to visit our camps, take part in a program activity, or attend a troop meeting.

Cross-Functional Support

Seasonal programs and events are optional for staff to get involved but are strongly encouraged. This includes attending the Girl Award Ceremonies, Product Programs, recruitment events, and fundraisers.
