Nebraska City
Along the shimmering waters of Walnut Creek and near the serene apple orchards of historic Nebraska City, you will discover the beautiful Camp Catron.
The camp is named in honor of the Catron family, who generously donated 67 acres of land to our Council in 1947 with the sole purpose of building a Girl Scout camp. Catron has grown to 107 acres and features the spacious Kimmel Lodge, modern shower houses, storm shelters, and multiple options for overnight stays, including cozy Ten Oaks Cabin and the eight elevated tree houses that comprise Sky Camp.
This outdoor haven includes a sparkling swimming pool, giant swing, flying squirrel, dual racing zip lines, archery, and miles of hiking trails. Test your bravery on the high and low challenge courses or at Eugene’s Adventure Course. The 16-element adventure course is nestled among the trees, and its top level takes visitors 35-feet into the air with an exhilarating QuickFlight freefall exit!
This camp is accredited by the American Camp Association®, which requires thorough and rigorous compliance for camp operations, staffing qualifications, and safety standards annually. An onsite observation visit is performed by a team of specially-trained camp professionals every five years.
Camp Catron is owned and operated by Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska and is available for rent by Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scout groups. Please see Property Rentals for more information about renting Spirit of Nebraska properties.
