
Girl Scouts shine brightest when they're making the world a better place. Earning the Girl Scout Bronze Awards are remarkable achievements in Girl Scouting. This year’s recipients dreamt of a better tomorrow and acted in big ways.
Congratulations to the 136 Juniors who earned their Bronze Award!
Claire Olivia Sedivy – Created a recipe book and presentation for her after-school center to showcase the importance of fruits and vegetables.
Jocelyn Zerr – Assembled Birthday Item Kits for youth at risk of not receiving birthday gifts on their big day.
Troop 00936 – Built a "Little Free Pantry" stocked with non-perishable items for anyone at no cost.
Troop 08004 – Planned and built an A frame for a swing they donated to their school last year using their cookie funds.
Troop 08109 – Partnered with Urban Legends Art Studio in Lincoln creating artwork for the chemo infusion rooms at Thayer County Hospital in Hebron. In the process, they also learned about various mediums of art.
Troop 08143 – Hosted a Pajama Party where attendees were encouraged to donate an additional set of pajamas. A total of 44 pairs of pajamas were donated to Blue Valley Community Action in Fairbury.
Troop 08237 – Revamped their church’s storage closet by installing shelves and labeled totes. They also assembled first aid kits for the church to utilize.
Troop 08875 – Created free pet kits for families adopting animals from their local humane society. The kits included toys, leashes, treats, food dishes, and more.
Troop 10232 – Raised awareness around the upkeep at Happy Hound Dog Park by providing an educational video and plastic waste bags.
Troop 18186 – Helped the Ogallala Community Garden by planting seeds, building tomato cages, and weeding the garden on a weekly basis.
Troop 18542 – Created bags made from t-shirts that consisted of toys, a diaper clutch, and fleece tie blankets for low-income, first-time parents in their community.
Troop 20205 – Assembled care packages that included assorted cat and dog toys and homemade animal treats for their local humane society. They also worked together to make outdoor shelter boxes to keep a feral cat colony warm during winter.
Troop 20823 – Raised money for incoming Daisy troops by placing donation jars at frequented businesses in Nebraska City. With their earnings, they provided Journey books, activity sheets, and supplies to new troops.
Troop 20835 – Partnered with the Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department to get an accessible swing installed at their town park. They received the Thrivent grant, assisted in installing the swing, and held a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Troop 20836 – Educated themselves about online safety; from researching statistics to learning about real life situations that happened to youth their age.
Troop 20853 – Used their cookie money to purchase a Buddy Bench for their school playground and books for their school library.
Troop 28723 – After researching native Nebraska trees, they created an informational video about the subject matter and planted a small tree.
Troop 40201 – Donated chew toys to Wagons to Wheels Dog Rescue to comfort animals waiting for adoption.
Troop 40304 – Built a float for the Gretna Days Parade that showcased Girl Scouts in the 1920’s compared to Girl Scouts of today called “Now and Then.”
Troop 43018 – Created a blanket program for animals at the All Creatures Veterinary Clinic in Omaha to offer additional comfort to animals undergoing surgery.
Troop 43578 – Spread positivity by painting ceiling tiles at their school with affirmational messages on them.
Troop 44290 – Planted trees to provide shade at their school's amphitheater to serve as comfort for people who may become overheated.
Troop 45013 – Collected more than 300 non-perishable items and toiletries for the Salem Food Pantry in Omaha.
Troop 45325 – Built and donated 57 scratching posts for cats made of recycled cardboard.
Troop 45325b – Donated canned goods, homemade fleece tie blankets, and sleeping mats made from plastic grocery bags for Together Inc. in Omaha
Troop 45413 – Built a Free Little Library using recycled materials to promote literacy and encourage reading within their community.
Troop 45423 – Cleaned up parks in their community and built birdhouses to help enhance animal habitats.
Troop 45483 – Raised $613 from baking and selling baked goods for the Humane Society International.
Troop 48012 – Created the Neurodivergence Awareness Project consisting Calm Kits for therapists to share with their clients, a book list centered around neurodivergent characters, and a webpage of resources.
Troop 48012b – Created hand-made cards of affirmation and love to hand out to the LGBTQIA+ community during the Pride Parade.
Troop 48303 – Hosted a Pet Supply Drive for Homeward Bound in the Heartland, an organization located in Omaha that provides financial aid to pet owners.
Troop 48315 – Hosted a Toy Drive for Children’s Hospital and Medical Center and created cards of love and encouragement for patients.
Troop 48689 – Led the efforts for the installation of water bottle refill stations in their school. These stations cut down on plastic usage and improve the water system.
Troop 48788 – Secured donations and built a fence as a permanent safety line at the archery range at Camp Maha in Papillion.
Troop 48835 – Provided Period Packs to girls in 4th and 5th grade at Douglas County West Elementary that included pads, panty liners, wet wipes, and more.
Troop 50013 – Worked with the City Council, fundraised, and received grants to purchase two AEDs for the city of Battle Creek.
Troop 50273 – Made and donated tie blankets to residents at their local nursing home.
Troop 50549 – Used woodworking skills to create outdoor game boards such as Tic-Tac-Toe and donated them to Camp Fontanelle.
