Sometimes, the stories we think have ended are really just waiting for their next chapter.
As a girl, Josie loved everything about Girl Scouts; camp adventures, Girl Scout Cookie season, troop meetings, and proudly wearing her uniform to school. But when her time as a Girl Scout ended after being a Junior, she never imagined the journey would one day come full circle.
Thirty years later, it did.
After joining the Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska marketing team, Josie found herself back in Girl Scouts alongside her two daughters. What began as cheering them on soon turned into co-leading a troop, helping girls earn their Bronze Award, and watching her daughters discover the same confidence, friendships, and love for camp that had shaped her own childhood.
One moment, in particular, reminded her just how powerful Girl Scouts can be. After attending a Highest Awards ceremony, her youngest daughter looked up at her and said, "I can't wait to earn my Gold Award." She wasn't even old enough to begin that journey, but she already believed she could.
Looking back, Josie realizes her Girl Scout story never really ended. It simply came back to her through her daughters, the girls in her troop, and the opportunity to help the next generation discover what they're capable of.
"Girl Scouts gave me wonderful childhood memories. But it gave my daughters something even greater. It gave them the confidence to believe that whatever bridge comes next, they can cross it."
That's the power of Girl Scouts. Every generation builds on the one before it, creating a legacy of confidence, courage, and girls who believe there's no limit to what they can achieve.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
