Girl Scouts doesn't just change the lives of girls—it changes the lives of the women who grow alongside them.
For more than 15 years, Nichole has been part of the Girl Scout movement as a troop leader, volunteer, staff member, and mom. She watched her daughters, Evelyn and Soren, grow from Kindergarten through high school as Girl Scouts, leading their troops before cheering them on through camp, Program Aide experiences, and volunteer opportunities. Today, both of her daughters continue giving back by volunteering with Girl Scouts, helping lead camp activities, starter troops, and back-to-school recruitment events.
Along the way, Girl Scouts transformed Nichole's own journey.
After her divorce, she joined Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska as an Outreach Specialist—her first full-time job outside the home in 16 years. Unsure of what that next chapter would hold, she discovered a passion for connecting girls with opportunities they might not otherwise have, especially through outreach in Title I schools and communities across Nebraska.
That experience sparked a new confidence in herself as a leader. Today, as Community Engagement Manager, Nichole leads both the Outreach and Recruitment teams statewide, helping ensure more girls and families discover everything Girl Scouts has to offer. Most recently, she was selected to represent Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska as a delegate to the GSUSA National Convention in Washington, D.C.
"Girl Scouts empowered me in many ways, from mom life to work life. I have grown so much as a person and as a leader because of my experiences as a troop leader and staff member."
That's the power of Girl Scouts. It doesn't just inspire girls to discover their potential—it empowers the women who lead them to discover theirs, too.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
