On World Humanitarian Day, we’re celebrating the power of coming together to create opportunities, strengthen communities, and make sure more girls have the chance to discover what’s possible.
Through our Outreach department's partnership with Girls Inc of Omaha, girls receive access to Girl Scout programming and experiences including opportunities to spend time at Camp Maha.
For more than five years, this partnership has connected girls with outdoor adventures, new skills, friendships, and caring adults who encourage them to try something new. And if you ask the girls, some of their favorite memories are pretty simple:
“My favorite part of Girl Scouts was making crafts, new friends, and swimming every day. The counselors were so nice and kind. Maha’s Got Talent was really fun too!” — Cataleya R., 5th grade
For Shayla in 6th grade, this summer at Camp Maha was especially meaningful. “It was my last year being able to attend, so I was very sad to go and leave my counselors.”
These moments are a reminder that creating access is an important part of building stronger communities. Sometimes, making a difference looks like opening a door, providing an opportunity, or giving a girl a place where she feels welcome to try, learn, and belong.
We’re grateful for partners like Girls Inc. of Omaha who help us bring Girl Scouting to more girls and create experiences that can stay with them long after they leave camp.
Because when we work together, more girls get to discover their courage, confidence, and character.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
