For Jill, Girl Scouts was made extraordinary by one very special woman: Barb Feit.
Barb was Jill's Girl Scout leader, mentor, friend, and biggest supporter for many years. She didn't simply lead a troop; she helped shape the young women in it, showing them what was possible and encouraging them to become the very best versions of themselves.
The opportunities Barb gave her Girl Scouts were truly remarkable. One of the most unforgettable was a trip to Our Chalet in Switzerland, where Jill experienced an adventure far beyond what she could have imagined as a young Girl Scout.
But the greatest gift Barb gave Jill wasn't a trip or a badge or an experience. It was the example she set. Barb led with knowledge and compassion. She believed in her girls, challenged them to grow, and showed them through her own actions what it meant to be a strong, capable, generous woman.
“She's one of the people who helped mold me into the woman I am today,” Jill says. “She changed my life for the better.”
That is the lasting power of a great Girl Scout leader: long after the meetings end and the girls grow up, the lessons remain. The confidence remains. The example remains.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
