For 37 years, Girl Scouts has been a constant in Christina’s life; from her first-grade investiture ceremony to her years as a staff member and, today, as a member of the Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska Board of Directors.
Some of her earliest memories come from her Brownie troop in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and the remarkable leader who showed her what Girl Scout leadership could look like. Her troop leader, Mrs. Murray, left a lasting impression through the way she modeled the Girl Scout Promise and Law and made Christina feel seen and inspired.
Those early experiences planted a dream: Christina wanted to work for Girl Scouts.
That dream became reality when she spent her summers working at Camp Lakota, eventually returning as a camp director. In 2001, she joined the Girl Scout council in Sioux City, where she spent years connecting girls with Girl Scouts and supporting the volunteers who made those experiences possible.
Over the years, Christina's Girl Scout journey has taken many forms, but one thing has remained constant: her belief in the power of Girl Scouts to help girls discover who they are and who they can become.
From the “ROCK ON SISTER” memories of her years in Iowa to her current role as a board member helping guide Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska, Christina's journey is a beautiful example of what it means for Girl Scouts to become part of your life—and stay there.
37 years, countless memories, and a Girl Scout journey that continues to this day.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
