In 1996, Nicole had a pretty unforgettable Girl Scout experience: she was invited to a Girl Scout photo opportunity with then-Nebraska Football coach Tom Osborne, just after his back-to-back national championships. And as if that wasn't memorable enough, she happened to run into Bob Devaney in the hallway, who invited the group into his office for another autograph!
But meeting two Husker legends was just one small part of Nicole's Girl Scout story.
She spent summers at Camp Washawtee, became a counselor and wrangler, lifeguarded at camp, traveled through WiderOps and troop trips, completed her Silver and Gold Awards, volunteered her time, and said yes to countless new adventures.
Today, Nicole is a mom of five, owns two chiropractic clinics, volunteers as a firefighter and youth coach, and continues to serve her community. Most recently, she completed swift water rescue training—drawing on skills she first developed through Girl Scouts.
And she's passing those lessons on to her own children, making sure they experience the same opportunities to learn, serve, explore, and grow.
From Husker legends to high ropes, Girl Scouts helped Nicole become the woman she is today and she's still putting those skills to work.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
