It’s officially our 100th anniversary year!
For 100 years, Girl Scouts in Nebraska has been creating experiences that help girls discover who they are, what they’re capable of, and how they can make a difference. And behind every one of those experiences are people who make it possible.
The staff pictured here, and the many staff members who couldn’t fit into this photo, represent just one chapter in a much bigger story. For 100 years, countless staff members, volunteers, and supporters have poured their time, talents, and hearts into Girl Scouts, leaving a legacy that we’re honored to carry forward.
Because Girl Scouting doesn’t happen because of one person. It happens because all of us bring something to the work.
On October 1, 2026, Girl Scouts across Nebraska will come together virtually to officially kick off our anniversary year. At 19:26—7:26 p.m. CST, honoring the year Girl Scouts was established in Nebraska—we’ll recite the Girl Scout Promise and Law together. It will be a moment to pause and remember what came before us while celebrating everything still ahead.
Girl Scouts was established in Nebraska in October 1926 with the formation of troops in Omaha. Over the decades, councils grew across the state, including Fairbury, Lincoln, Ogallala, northeast Nebraska, and Kearney. In 2008, those councils came together to form Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska, creating one council serving 92 Nebraska counties and the Girl Scout community of Carter Lake, Iowa.
One hundred years later, we’re still here. Still creating. Still growing. Still showing up for girls.
And we’re just getting started.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
