At 16, Chyna stood on the summit of Mount Fuji and watched the sunrise. Looking out at the world around her, she remembers thinking, “I am unstoppable!”
That confidence was years in the making.
Chyna began her Girl Scout journey as a Daisy in Oklahoma, eventually ending up in Nebraska. As her family moved from state to state, her mom made sure Girl Scouts remained a constant. Wherever they went, Chyna found friendship, belonging, and a community that made unfamiliar places feel a little more like home.
In 2017, Girl Scouts took her to Japan for 10 unforgettable days. She connected with Girl Scouts in Japan, experienced a new culture, and discovered she was capable of far more than she had imagined.
That confidence carried into her Gold Award project, a photographic exhibit celebrating influential women in her community. She later returned to Girl Scouts as a camp counselor, helping create the same meaningful experiences that had shaped her.
Today, Chyna brings her Girl Scout values of compassion, leadership, and service into her work as a nurse. As chair of her unit-based council, she encourages collaboration and leads projects that give back to her community.
From a young Daisy finding belonging through a childhood full of change to a nurse empowering others, Girl Scouts has been a constant thread in Chyna’s life.
She credits her mom with making sure she never lost that connection—and she'll always carry the lesson she learned atop Mount Fuji: “I am unstoppable.”
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
