From a Daisy to a Highest Award recipient, Jasmine's Girl Scout journey helped shape the person she is today.
Growing up in Omaha, Girl Scouts was more than a weekly meeting. It was where Jasmine found lifelong friends, built confidence, learned practical skills, and discovered the power of sisterhood. It was also where she learned the importance of serving her community and working together to make a difference.
Those experiences stayed with her long after her Girl Scout years ended.
Today, Jasmine lives in Newark, New Jersey, where she works as a postdoctoral research associate at Rutgers University–Newark. Her passion for education, representation, environmental stewardship, scientific outreach, and community-engaged research reflects the values she began developing as a Girl Scout.
Jasmine credits her troop leader, Georgia Culliver, with helping her and countless other young people see what was possible and understand how much they could accomplish together.
Girl Scouts gave Jasmine a place to explore new possibilities, build meaningful relationships, and find her voice. Now, she carries those lessons into her work and the communities she serves.
Her story is a reminder that the impact of Girl Scouts doesn't end when a girl earns her final award or attends her last troop meeting. The confidence, friendships, and sense of purpose she builds can stay with her for a lifetime.
100 years. Countless stories. One lasting legacy.
