Start Thinking, Start Changing!
As a Girl Scout, you’re part of a special group that stretches across the world. On February 22 of each year, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from over 150 countries celebrate World Thinking Day. This exciting program brings girls together to celebrate friendship and expose us to new cultures locally and globally! This year’s theme is “Our Story: Reflecting the symbolism and values of our Movement”.
Be a part of this proud tradition: pick a country to present and register today! To bring Girl Scouts together and get the full experience, we have two exciting locations you can choose from in Omaha and Kearney.
Here are a few steps to get you started on creating your booth:
- Choose a Country: Pick a country that interests you or one you want to learn more about. Consider its unique traditions, foods, and cultural symbols.
- Research: Dive into the history, culture, and traditions of your chosen country. Look for interesting facts, traditional recipes, and cultural artifacts that you can share.
- Create Your Booth: Decorate your booth with the country's flag, maps, and pictures. You could also include traditional clothing, music, and crafts.
- Interactive Elements: Plan some interactive activities like food, games, quizzes, or crafts that represent your chosen country. This will make your booth engaging and fun for visitors.
- Share Stories: Since this year's theme is "Our Story”, think about how you can reflect the values and symbolism of the Girl Scouts Movement through the stories and traditions of your chosen country.
