We are proud to announce that Kris has been named Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska’s Employee of the Quarter! Kris’ passion, hard work, and helpfulness are only a few examples of the impact she’s made on our Council.
Kris has been with the council since 2011, starting her journey as a part-time registrar and retail associate. Over the years, she has taken on various roles, including placement, before transitioning to her current position as a full-time registrar. She thrives in her role, finding joy in tasks like data entry and creating engaging program events for girls and adults.
"I love to help problem-solve when issues arise and enjoy teaching others the tricks I've learned over the years to streamline their work in Salesforce. I’m result-driven and love seeing everything come together," Kris shares.
One of Kris’s most memorable experiences was the transition from Personify to Salesforce, a customer relationship management platform. She recalls, "I knew Personify inside and out, so learning Salesforce required a whole new way of thinking. It was challenging, but looking back, I appreciate how much I've grown. Those hours spent watching training videos finally make sense!"
Her ability to embrace change and persevere exemplifies the Girl Scout value of working hard and not being afraid to fail. "Without failure, I can't be successful. I put my all into everything I do," Kris says.
Kris has seen firsthand how Girl Scouts positively impacts the lives of girls and the community. She recalls a touching moment when a mother used the Girl Scout Promise to teach her daughter a life lesson about honesty and kindness. "It’s wonderful to see how our values guide families and shape young girls into compassionate individuals," she says.
For those starting in nonprofit or youth-serving organizations, Kris offers heartfelt advice: "You may be the only smile or positive voice someone hears that day, so speak with your heart. Let your light shine, and if you make a difference in one person’s life, you’re in the right career."
Outside of work, Kris enjoys cheering on the Huskers, grilling, and spending time with her children. "We’re competitive, so playing cards or board games gets intense at our house," she laughs. She also treasures moments spent with her mom, putting puzzles together, often choosing butterfly themes—her mom’s favorite.
Thank you, Kris, for your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to making a difference. You inspire us all!
