We are proud to announce that Michelle Teters has been named Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska’s Employee of the Quarter!
Michelle is the kind of teammate who quietly keeps everything running like clockwork behind the scenes. As our Systems and Data Analyst, she brings clarity to complexity and supports nearly every department with skill, strategy, and heart. Whether she’s solving data mysteries or helping us navigate new tech systems, Michelle’s deep knowledge and calm presence make her an invaluable part of our team.
Michelle has been with Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska for seven years, first serving as a Recruiter in the West before transitioning into her current role just two years later. Now, she plays a vital part in making sure our council systems work smoothly through collaboration with teams across the council and even with GSUSA.
Michelle’s dedication was clear from the start. She jumped into her new Analyst role just as the council was transitioning between major systems.
“When we switched from VS1 [Volunteer Systems] to VS2 and also from Personify to GSEvents—all within my first few months in this position—that was some major on-the-job training,” she recalls.
Her willingness to adapt and dive in, even during challenging times, has helped guide our council through complicated shifts with confidence and success.
Michelle may not work directly with girls in her role, but she never forgets the impact her work has on their lives.
“I love that we encourage girls to get outside of their comfort zone and try new things,” she says. “It can be something as simple as making a new friend all the way up to traveling abroad. We are here to help them and encourage them every step of the way.”
Michelle believes that staying grounded in the mission is essential, especially for those in nonprofit or youth-serving work.
“Always remember why you are here and who we serve. When things get hard and I feel tired and stressed, I think about the girls that would miss out on some amazing opportunities if it wasn’t for Girl Scouts. Even though I’m not directly involved with girls in my position, I still play a vital role in making sure we can provide opportunities for every girl.”
When she’s not working behind the scenes to support the mission, Michelle is chasing adventure. She loves traveling, camping, and riding her Spyder (a 3-wheel motorcycle). She’s traveled thousands of miles across the country on motorcycles and treasures the time she spends with her kids and two grandsons.
Thank you, Michelle, for your dedication, problem-solving brilliance, and the quiet strength you bring to Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska. We’re so grateful for all you do!
