Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in a girl's life while balancing your busy schedule? Joining Girl Scouts as a volunteer might be the perfect opportunity for you! With short-term volunteering opportunities available, you can easily fit giving back into your life. Whether it's leading a workshop, organizing an outdoor adventure, or mentoring a group, there are countless ways to contribute and inspire. Take the leap and become a Girl Scout volunteer today!
Episodic volunteer opportunities are one-time or seasonal experiences for older girls or adults who need easy service hours and wish to contribute to Girl Scouts’ Mission without committing to bi-weekly troop meetings. These opportunities are ideal for older girls to build leadership or presentation skills with adult guidance (Girl Scout Cadette and Senior members may need to bring a caregiver or a member of their troop leadership team with them).

BACK-TO-SCHOOL HOST
REQUIREMENTS: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
Back-to-School nights (open houses) are generally in August, one day per year. The majority of schools hold them indoors for one to two hours. You would attend, host a table, and may be asked general Girl Scout questions. The Council will provide Girl Scout give-away items and interest forms for prospective families to complete.
HOLD A "YOU'RE INVITED" PARTY
REQUIREMENTS: 3 / 4 / 6
You’re Invited Parties are recruitment events for prospective girls and families to experience a taste of Girl Scouts. Some of the party themes are Animal Dance, Robot Building, and Unicorn Friends. These events are best conducted by a minimum of two people: one leading girl activities and another answering Girl Scout questions for parents/caregivers. All girl activities, supplies, and talking points will be provided by the Council (we’re happy to talk you through an adult conversation for a practice run). The Council will also provide fliers if you are able to assist with getting fliers into a school (we may only deliver to schools with staff/volunteers living in that area). These parties may be a one-time or ongoing opportunity tailored to your availability; scheduled for one hour and typically held evenings or weekends.
TRIP ADVISORS
REQUIREMENTS 5 / 6
Trip Advisors provide supervision and guidance for some of our older girl council-sponsored trips, encouraging each girl to develop independence and leadership skills.
TRANSPORTATION CHAPERONE
REQUIREMENTS: 5 / 6
Transportation to and from Girl Scout programs is a participation barrier for some of our members. Chaperoning allows girls to participate in these fun and supplemental adventures essential to a well-rounded Girl Scout experience. The Council is seeking volunteer chaperones in urban and rural communities for a seasonal commitment. We will match you with girls whose ages you are comfortable interacting with and transporting in your vehicle. Chaperones must have a personal vehicle with current safety features, have insurance, have a current driver's license, and be available to drop off/pick up girls from Girl Scout programs.
SCHOOL TROOP SITE LEADER
REQUIREMENTS: 4 / 6
Girl Scouts is for every girl, however, some girls are only able to participate when it’s delivered after school. We are looking for caring adults who want to make this possible for girls in urban and rural communities. The Council will provide training, materials, lesson plans, and support for all things needed in this role. This is generally a once-per-week commitment for one school semester with the option for multiple semesters!
EVENT ASSISTANT
REQUIREMENTS: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
Come and have fun sharing Girl Scouts with prospective girls and families! Event assistants are needed in urban and rural communities. This is a fun and low-commitment way to help spread the word about Girl Scouting on YOUR schedule. The Council recruitment team hosts a variety of events—some are one-time instances while others are bi-weekly for five weeks (such as startup troops). Events are more fun and interactive for participants if there is a full team to assist (we do our best to have staff partner up, but due to geography, it’s not feasible in all instances, which is why we’re looking for Event Assistants). We would love for you to be a part of our Mission without requiring any prep work on your part!
GSAG CO-LEADERS
REQUIREMENTS 4 / 6
Help lead an area Girl Scout Advisory Group (GSAG) of older Girl Scouts who brainstorm program ideas, provide valuable feedback to our council, and keep us focused on what is relevant to girls today.
DEMO MEETING LEADER
REQUIREMENTS 2 / 3 / 4
Help troops that are just getting started by leading one meeting for Daisy or Brownie level troops. Training to be provided as well as all materials, scripts, and step-by-step instructions for the specific meeting.
Need some more information before you commit? We would love to hear from you so we can answer your questions. Complete this form and we’ll have a Council representative reach out to you.
