There’s something powerful about stepping outside—a quick walk around the block, a picnic at the park, or watching the sun set after a long summer day. Time outdoors can help boost mood, improve focus, build confidence, and inspire curiosity about the world around us.
From May 1 –September 14, Girl Scouts are invited to take part in the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge, a fun way to connect with nature through simple, meaningful experiences.
Participation in the challenge is completely free, but registration is required to receive the activity guide (available in English and Spanish). The guide includes 50+ outdoor activities designed for all ages and experience levels, making it easy to participate wherever you live!
Girl Scouts who complete the challenge unlock a special Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors patch (available for purchase at Girl Scout Shops and online) to celebrate their adventure.
The challenge is designed to be approachable and fun. You can complete activities as a troop, with family, or on your own schedule. Here are just a few examples:
The beauty of this program is its flexibility. Your outdoor adventure can be as simple or as bold as you’d like. Gather friends, invite family members, or enjoy a quiet solo moment in nature. Every step outside is an opportunity to learn something new and try something different.
Register by June 30 to receive your free activity guide and start your Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge.
