Celebrate World Thinking Day

November 21, 2023
Start Thinking, Start Changing!

Join your fellow Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from over 150 countries around the world to celebrate World Thinking Day in 2024! The best part? You don’t need to wait until February to get started.  Start learning NOW about World Thinking Day and embracing perspectives outside your own! This year’s focus, "Our World, Our Thriving Future: The Environment and Global Poverty," inspires you to explore how these issues are even more challenging for girls and women in your communities and around the world. Think about the issues that contribute to the problems and the little things you can do to make a big difference!

Attend a Council-Sponsored Program to Celebrate Together!

Join the global Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding sisterhood and celebrate together on World Thinking Day 2024 by learning, exploring, and taking action around a common theme.

Make it Girl-Led: The Year of Friendship and Fun!

Once you’ve registered, select a country to research before the event and prepare a fun interactive display to teach sister Girl Scouts about your chosen country.

Step 1: Choose a country you want to learn about. Reserve your chosen country.

Step 2: Research the country and create a colorful display to present.

Step 3: Develop a fun and interactive activity to teach sister Girl Scouts about your chosen country. Some suggestions are:

  • Teach how to count to 10 in the country’s language.
  • Perform a dance, play an instrument, teach a game, or make a craft unique to the country.
  • Prepare and offer small samples of a food the country is known for (no nuts, please).
  • Provide clothing samples, such as kimonos or sombreros to try on.

*Daises and new troops are invited to attend without researching and presenting a country. Once you experience World Thinking Day, we’re confident you’ll be inspired to return next year representing a country!
