Keep Girl Scouts Going

Keep Girl Scouts Going: A Guide for Troop Parents and Caregivers

The new Keep Girl Scouts Going: A Guide for Troop Parents and Caregivers will empower you and your girl to shine outsider her regular troop setting. Maintaining her connection to Girl Scouts can bring her a sense of normalcy and security when much of her world seems uncertain. The guide will help you work with her as she tries new things, earns badges, grows her leadership skills and experiences a well-rounded Girl Scout year. Exploring Girl Scout activities at home with your girl can also give your entire family the chance to learn and grow together.

National Service Projects

Ways to Serve Your Community During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Girl Scouts have always stepped up in times of need, and our current COVID-19 crisis is no different. All across our country and our world, Girl Scouts have leapt to the aid of others by engaging in wonderful acts of service and kindness. Now your troop can get involved too!

There's a new project each month. We started with letter writing and mask making. The newest project challenges you to become citizen scientists. Your troop can contribute to important scientific research by participating in a Girl Scouts Give Back citizen science projects. We’ve partnered with SciStarter, an online citizen science community, to help get you going! Find out how to get involved.

Entrepreneurial Challenge Patch Program

Girl Scouts are Go-Getters, Innovative, Risk-takers, and Leaders. These are all skills that are necessary to be an entrepreneur. Complete the Entrepreneurial Challenge Patch Program to learn more about the skills needed to become a business owner and have an entrepreneurial mindset.

Once you complete the number of activities for your grade level, you can purchase the Entrepreneurial Challenge patch online.

Explore Your Camp Online Scavenger Hunt

During this unprecedented time, we want to ensure EVERY girl has an opportunity to earn the new Explore Your Camp patch collage. Spirit of Nebraska has developed a patch program with a fun and challenging online scavenger hunt. Scour our camp pages, camp brochure, photo galleries, and more to find the quiz answers. Upon completion of your hunt, you will be directed to Juliette’s Boutique where you may purchase your camp patch pieces. You have the option to either buy the patch pieces all at once, or purchase a wedge each time you visit one of our camps. The choice is yours!

Global Action Award

Girl Scouts’ Global Action Award calls on girls to address the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, or SDGs for short, by discovering, connecting, and taking action in their communities and beyond. In 2021, girls will explore SDG #13 (climate action) to earn their Global Action award.

Global Action Days Patch

Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska also has a Global Action Days Patch Program that you can earn by participating in three of eight action days listed in the official Girl Scouts Global Action Days Toolkit

Home Sweet Home Patch Program

There are plenty of amazing ways to keep busy with Girl Scouts from the comfort of your own home. We’re inviting all Girl Scouts to take the Home Sweet Home Challenge. Complete a minimum of 10 activities on this checklist to earn your Home Sweet Home patch. You can complete a combination of the activities for all ages and/or the activities for your Girl Scout level. Once you complete 10 activities, you can order the patch online or purchase it in your local Juliette’s Boutique.

Mental Health Awareness Patch Program

Put together by the International BiPolar Foundation, this patch program  educates girls about the brain and its influence on thoughts, feelings, and behavior. A Girl Scout activity packet creates awareness and understanding of mental health, leading to changed perceptions about seeking help.

Programs on Demand

Programs on Demand are affordable, ready-to-go kits delivered to you and facilitated by you at a meeting or get-together. Each kit contains a fun patch for every girl, most needed supplies, and instructions. There are five great kits to choose from.

Reaching for the Stars Patch Program

Looking into the night sky can make you feel very small, but it also shows you how we’re all connected! On any given night, a friend or family member far away may be looking at the same moon and constellations you are seeing. Celebrate the unity our night sky inspires by completing this patch program.

Once you complete the required number of activities for your Girl Scout level, you can order your patch online!

Volunteer Resources

Thank you for helping us bring Girl Scouting to more girls. Our mission truly would not be possible without the volunteers who provide girls stability in uncertain times and the encouragement and safe spaces they need to continue dreaming big, taking on tough challenges, and growing into strong, confident leaders. We’re here to help you! Everything you need to support your delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience while at home can be found in the Troop Leader Blueprint. If you need additional guidance or someone to reach out to, contact your local Troop Support Specialist.
