Since 1926, Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska has been building girls of courage, confidence, and character across every corner of Nebraska. On October 29, 2026, we’ll celebrate this incredible legacy at our 100-Year Anniversary Banquet in Lincoln, bringing together Girl Scouts, alum, supporters, and community leaders to honor the women and girls who have shaped our past and look ahead to the century to come.
An Evening Celebrating 100 Years of Girl Scouting
The 100-Year Anniversary Banquet is an evening honoring the legacy and lasting impact of Girl Scouting in Nebraska. Guests will experience a celebration filled with connection, inspiring stories, a special keynote from Olympic gold medalist Jordan Larson, and a tribute to the generations of girls, volunteers, families, and supporters who have helped shape Girl Scouting over the past century.

Join us for the Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska 100-Year Anniversary Banquet on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
PURCHASE TICKETSA Hooper, Nebraska native and Premier Nebraska alumna, Jordan is one of the most decorated American volleyball players in history. She made her mark on Nebraska volleyball as a three-time All-American and 2006 NCAA champion, earning the nickname “ Governor” due to her popularity in the state. Jordan joined the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2009 and is a four-time Olympian. She led the U.S. to a historic gold medal at Tokyo 2020, where she also earned MVP and Best Outside Hitter honors. At Paris 2024, she helped the U.S. claim silver, becoming the first American indoor athlete to win four Olympic medals. She’s won gold at the FIVB World Championships (2014), Volleyball Nations League (2018, 2019, 2021), and the Club World Championship (2015, 2016). Jordan has played in Puerto Rico, Russia, Türkiye, Italy and Athletes Unlimited during her 15-year pro career. In 2025, she became a co-owner of LOVB Nebraska.
As the 2025-2029 Nebraska State Poet, Jewel Rodgers has been a spoken word poet for more than a decade, performing in schools, festivals, community settings, conferences, public events, and other venues. Rodgers is an Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award winner for Best Performance Poet in Omaha and a three-time TEDx speaker. She has received numerous accolades, including being a 2022 Union for Contemporary Art Fellow, a 2023 Andy Warhol Populus Fund Grantee, a 2024 finalist in the Blackberry Peach Poetry Slam, and a 2025 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow.
Through her State Poet initiative, Rodgers works to increase access to poetry and creative connection across Nebraska through performances, workshops, community conversations, and literary exchanges. Beyond poetry, Rodgers is a spatial practitioner and emerging developer focused on small-scale community development projects in Omaha, exploring how storytelling, public space, and culture work together to deepen a sense of belonging.
Maria Cade is a MultiMedia Journalist and Alert Desk Anchor at First Alert 6. She joined the First Alert 6 news team in July 2024 after working at WTAJ News in Central Pennsylvania. Maria is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and studied at the prestigious Hussman School of Journalism and Media. After graduating from UNC, she moved to New York City to work with ABC News as an intern for the third hour of Good Morning America.
In addition to journalism, Maria has a passion for singing and performing. She also studied vocal performance at UNC and has performed in dozens of musicals, plays, and operas. In her spare time, Maria enjoys volunteering her time with various organizations around Nebraska.
